is pepper spray necessary?

this guy says so.
i was going about my daily routines having a good time at work interacting with my customers. but around 3:15 pm, the story changed. a teenage boy, who rather looked too clean-cut to be doing what he was doing, came in and asked me for a menu. yes, it was weird that he asked me for a menu at a yogurt store. anyways i kindly told him that we don't have menus and that he can serve himself a cup of yogurt the way he would like it. then this boy asked me again where the cups were after i had just showed him. so again, i pointed to where they were. then the next thing i know is, this boy is bolting out the door with my tip jar which was sitting right in front of me. the crazier thing is, this happened while several customers were serving themselves some yogurt. i was shocked and felt violated. i had mixed feelings about this boy too. at first i was upset that this boy stole my tip jar (considering it was fuller than other days) and that he would do such a thing at such a young age. then i felt sorry for him. overall, after realizing the situation could have been worse, i was glad and grateful that nobody got hurt and nothing else was stolen. so i feel like i deserve a pepper spray after what i've been through today to be guarded at all times.
